Mrs. Fitzgibbon began working for the City on September 27, 1999.  She possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Missouri Southern State University of Joplin, Missouri. In 2007, she completed the Oklahoma Municipal league Certified Municipal Official program. Jill has comparative experience in this role since 1995.

JOB SUMMARY: The public works director is responsible for directing the entire operation of the public works department. This includes street construction, maintenance and repair, assuring efficient and timely disposal of all solid waste materials delivered to the transfer station facility including daily collection of all residential and commercial waste, curbside recycling, maintenance of parks, cemetery, library, civic center and fleet garage. This position is also responsible for sports activities, municipal pool, events, fairgrounds and summer recreation program.

OBJECTIVE: To address the needs of the public in a timely manner to gain the respect and confidence of the citizens by showing them we put forth our best effort and that we have the training and knowledge to do the work correctly the first time.

Mike was hired as parks and recreation supervisor on January 16, 2006.

He and his wife Charlene are long time Miami residents. They have two (2) children.

Prior to moving to Miami, Mike graduated from McClain High School in Fresno, CA. He has over 30 years of experience in business, operations, budgeting, and personnel management. Mike served as City of Miami Commissioner for the NE Ward from 1990 - 1992. Being involved in city government along with serving on many community groups and organizations such as president of the Wardog Booster Club and serving on the Miami Chamber Board has gained Mike a wealth of community knowledge. Mike's desire is to work tirelessly to improve recreation for citizens in the Miami area.

JOB SUMMARY: 
The supervisor of parks and recreation is responsible for the operation of all City parks, Miami Municipal Swimming Pool, Miami Fairgrounds, GAR Cemetery, the Miami Civic Center, and the City's summer recreation program. This includes management of all personnel, budgets and working with the citizens.
